Celadon Shadow Chawan

This is one of the more refined pieces in the collection — a wide, cylindrical chawan glazed in a soft gray-green that calls to mind classical celadon traditions while remaining entirely its own. The glaze pools beautifully in the tooled facets of the exterior, creating subtle variation in depth and tone. Where the glaze thins, warm stoneware clay shows through, adding warmth and grounding the piece.

The bowl is presented with its original wooden storage box (tomobako) and an orange furoshiki wrapping cloth — a complete and considered object. The wide interior is calm and luminous, an ideal ground for matcha.
