Lichen Stone Chawan
Light and dark exist in easy balance on this wide chawan. The ground is a soft, pale gray — almost ash-white in places — with irregular iron-brown patches scattered across the surface in a pattern that strongly recalls lichen growing on granite. The glaze has a matte, mineral quality throughout, with very little gloss.
The form is generous and open, with a rounded body and a comfortable foot ring. The overall effect is natural and unforced — a piece that looks as though it emerged from slow processes rather than rapid ones.
