Lichen Globe Vase

Round and compact, this small vase is closer in spirit to a stone than a vessel — globular in body, with wide shoulders that narrow to a short neck and small opening. The surface is olive-green with dark brown crawling and pooling across it, the glaze having blistered and retracted in places to reveal the clay beneath.

This is a vase suited to a single stem: a sprig of something simple and seasonal, nothing elaborate. On a window ledge or a timber shelf it would look as though it had always been there, the kind of object that belongs to a place.
