Current Mark Chawan

The rim of this chawan is not a perfect circle — it rises and dips in a way that seems shaped by the potter's fingers pressing into soft clay. The exterior carries this same handmade directness: wave-like lines and fingerprint impressions are carved or pressed across the surface, creating a visual texture that is also a tactile record of making.

The glaze is dark and rough, charcoal-brown with purple-black patches. Where the incised lines cut through to lighter clay, there is a subtle contrast that catches the eye. This is the kind of chawan where the maker's process is inseparable from the finished object.
