White Ash Vase

A round, full-bellied vase finished with a wood-fire ash glaze that runs from grey-white at the shoulder to warm amber-brown where it thins. White glaze drips trail across the surface, each one stopping where physics decided — unplanned, unrepeatable.

The form is generous and stable, the mouth slightly irregular. This is a piece shaped by the fire as much as the hand.
