Iron Earth Chawan

This wide-mouthed chawan has the generous, open form ideal for whisking matcha — there is room to work the chasen freely without the bowl feeling crowded. The exterior is covered in a rich iron-black glaze interrupted by warm copper and amber patches where the iron oxide has reduced unevenly in the kiln.

The surface is heavily textured, almost pebbled, giving the bowl exceptional grip and a rawness that only deepens in the hand. The dark interior creates a beautiful contrast against the bright green of freshly whisked matcha.
