Arashi-obi

Three distinct glaze zones wrap this vase — sage-green at the shoulder, a dramatic band of dark iron-black at the belly, and cool blue-grey at the base — all in a rough kairagi texture that ties them together. The dark center band is the piece: it sits like a storm system around the widest point, dense and turbulent while the zones above and below remain calm.

Arashi-obi means storm sash, and the name fits.
