Stormcloud Chawan

Wide and low, this chawan has the generous proportions of a bowl made for lingering. The surface reads like a sky before a storm — dark gray-blue merging into purple and ash, with softer patches of pale cloud scattered across the exterior. The glaze is atmospheric rather than sharp, its transitions smooth and unpredictable in the way weather is unpredictable.

The interior is similarly moody, drawing the eye inward and down. A chasen rests naturally in the wide well, and when the bowl is held in both hands it has a settled, calming weight. This is a chawan for slow mornings.
