Ridge Stone Chawan

The dominant feature here is texture — deep horizontal ridges cut into the body during throwing, giving the exterior the feel of stacked slate. The glaze is steel blue-grey, pooling dark in the valleys between ridges and lighter on the peaks. The rim is slightly irregular, following the hand that made it.

This chawan is more tactile than visual. It needs to be held.
