Black Rock Chawan

Almost no glaze to speak of — just clay fired very dark, with just enough surface treatment to hold together. The form is deliberately rough, with an uneven rim and walls that carry the marks of the hands that shaped them. It sits without apology, the most wabi piece in the collection.

There's nothing decorative here, only the material and the fire.
