Lacquer Cloud Chawan

Jet black glaze, glossy enough to reflect light the way lacquerware does — the only genuinely reflective piece in this series. Rust and copper patches drift across the surface like clouds over dark water, appearing where the iron content in the glaze broke differently. The form is round-bellied with a high, defined foot ring and an elegant taper upward.

Among the dark chawan, this one is the most refined.
