Gold Shoulder Vase
Dark at the base — almost black-purple — this tall vase opens to warm gold across its shoulders, where ash has settled during firing and transformed the iron glaze into something closer to hammered bronze. The division happens gradually but decisively, and the contrast between the two tones gives the piece a tension that reads as resolved rather than accidental.
The form is classic and full. The collar neck has a fine rolled lip. This is a substantial vase — the kind that anchors a space rather than decorating it.
