Rain Drip Vase
Black glaze covers the collar and neck of this vase with a deep gloss — and from that collar, warm amber drips descend in long vertical threads over the pale gray-beige lower body. The effect is rain, or sap, or something else flowing naturally from dark to light. The lower body is left understated so the drips are the singular event.
The form is round and substantial, with wide shoulders that slope gently to a narrow foot. This is one of the most compositionally unified pieces in the large vase collection — the relationship between the dark collar and the falling amber is clear and beautiful.
