Cloud and Deep Vase

This vase is immediately distinct from every other piece in the collection. The upper body and neck are glazed in a smooth, luminous powder-blue — clean and glossy, almost porcelain in quality — and the lower half transitions through a watercolor-soft boundary into deep olive-black. The two colors are both calm, but their meeting creates something dynamic.

The form is tall and classic, with a broad shoulder and a small rolled rim. Where most of the collection works in earth and fire — iron, ash, dark reduction — this vase works in sky and sea. An important contrast piece.
