Autumn Gradient Lidded Jar

Most of the lidded jars work in the dark registers of iron and ash. This one goes somewhere different: the base and lower body are a cool lavender-blue, and as the eye moves upward, the glaze shifts through warm amber to rich gold at the shoulders and on the lid's surface. The transition is gradual and unpredictable — not a designed gradient, but a kiln result that happened to move beautifully from cool to warm.

The form is rounded and full, with a small round knob on the lid. The color combination — lavender, amber, gold — is unusual in this collection and makes this jar stand apart from its companions.
