Blue and Gold Speckled Plate

A wide shallow plate in a white and cream ground decorated with scattered blue spots and golden-olive cluster spots distributed across the interior. The marks have the quality of wildflowers in a field or a pointillist composition, distributed by the kiln's atmosphere rather than placed entirely by hand. The palest and most delicate of the plate series from this period.
