Shallow Bowl

A wide, shallow bowl from an earlier period of this studio's work. Shallow bowls in the wood-fired tradition are among the most demanding forms — the wide mouth exposes more surface to the kiln's atmosphere, resulting in ash deposits and iron marks that can be unpredictable and beautiful. A functional piece made for the table.
