Blue-Splash Jar Vase

A cylindrical jar-form vase with a slightly flared lip, glazed in a warm sandy and golden-brown ground overlaid with vivid blue splashes and white drips running from the rim. The combination of sandy warmth and cool blue has a lively, spontaneous quality — the glazes applied separately but interacting freely during firing. The straight cylinder gives the blue markings a bold vertical orientation absent from the more globular vases in this collection.
