Slate and Ember Yunomi

These two yunomi share the same essential character: dark charcoal-slate glaze with olive-gold dappling, the lower third of each left unglazed so the warm terracotta clay can breathe. The pair are similar but not identical — the glaze falls differently on each, the mottling shifts, the boundary between glaze and bare clay rises or falls by a centimeter.

This is what makes handmade ware worth having on the table every day: the small differences that accumulate over time. A pair for morning coffee or afternoon tea, with no wrong choice between them.
